AUGUST Birthday Party

During the month of August,
we only have one Birthday
to Celebrate!
(at the time of this post)
And that's ASHER'S!

And since Asher is such a Happy Boy,
I thought a Vintage Carnival would
be fun!

So - I put together some games
And got some ducks for a little duck pond!
And got some prizes ready for all of
my little winners!
And we had a PARTY!

I had a cute little hot dog stand set up,
but didn't take pictures.
And we had gourmet cupcakes
for desert! Brilyn helped me
bake them, so you know they were good!
Then, Asher opened his presents!
There weren't many because most people
gave him his presents at his other
birthday party the week before.
But - he got a new wagon and a
drum set!
And I think that drum set
was a big hit!
This kid was born to drum!
Doesn't he look like he's
ready to rock-n-roll?

The Coolest Zoo, Ever!

While the girls were here, earlier in the
month we went to
in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
Brilyn, Asher and Weston went, too!
This is a very hands-on zoo!
We all got to play with a baby taliger!
(half tiger and half liger {lion-tiger mix})
The Taliger's name was Alisa and it
loved Olivia!
It actually, loved Olivia's frilly dress.
It would chase her and bite it and the
wildlife attendant would often have to
pull it away. The cub was gentle andwas never
really a threat to Olivia - only her dress.
I played with the Taliger, too, but for
the most part, I was happy to take pictures
and let the kids play. After all,
what kid can say they've actually played
with a baby taliger?
 Asher & the Taliger
 Weston & the Taliger
 The taliger, Alisa, by herself!
Grace & the taliger.
Grace probably enjoyed this as much
as anyone. I think she played with the
little cub the most.
And I'll share more about this
hands on zoo later.
There is just too much to share
in only one post.

Handprint Snowmen Ornaments - So, So Cute!

We made
Handprint Snowmen Ornaments
and they turned out so cute, I just had to share.
We did this early in the month - before Weston
was born, so we will have to make him
one later.
Anyway.... aren't they DARLING?

Here is Grace's!
Her handprint almost fills up the ball.

And here is Brilyn's!
 And Olivia's!
Brilyn and Olivia's hands are
just the right size to make
super cute snowmen.
So - this is probably a good craft
for two and three year olds!
And look at Asher's itty bitty snowmen!
Aren't they adorable?
I did his handprint whild he was sleeping
and he barely even stirred.
He's a sweet boy.
He likes to snuggle but is content to
sit in his swing if you have
a chore or two to take care of.
You don't hear so much as a peep out of
him unless he is hungry....

Anyway...... to make the ornaments.
You need:
Large Blue Christmas Ornaments
(other colors would work, but blue looks like a night sky)
White Paint
(I used the acrylic Folk Art stuff from Walmart)
Sharpie Markers
Q-Tips
Paper Plate
Paper Towels

Put a little paint on a paper plate. Place your child's
hand in the paint and smear it around to get good
coverage. Dab the painted hand on a paper towel to remove
excess paint. Then apply hand onto the ornament and remove.
Don't worry about getting a "perfect handprint".
Snowmen are not perfect!
BUT - if there is any stray paint you can
wipe it away with a corner of a
damp paper towel.
Allow the paint to dry.
Then.... with a Q-Tip you can touch up
the handprint. Add paint to thin areas to
give them a little more shape.
Your "handprint" is more of a
size reference than an exact replica of
your child's hand.
After touching up allow the paint to dry
again. Once dry... use Sharpie Markers
to add eyes, noses, mouths,
scarfs, buttons and hats.
Dont forget to add your child's name
and the year so you can look back
and see who created this lovely
ornament and when!

And enjoy!
Kids seem to love making CHRISTmas
crafts and any grandparent would
love to receive one of these for
CHRISTmas!

Our Little Drummer Boy!

Asher is such a good baby!
Just look at him!
He's doing just what we've asked him
to do, although from the look
on his face, I think he thinks it's
kind of silly!
Hopefully, he'll love this
picture someday!

Asher

So..... I'm sure you were
wondering what Asher was
up to while Brilyn was fishing.
He was snoozing!
Yep.... he was! He was right out
there with us soaking up
some good old vitamin D.
Now.... we might be able to make
a fisherman out of him!

Grace & Olivia meet Asher!

Grace and Olivia were really
excited to meet their new cousin!
I think it was love at first sight.
Or actually, I think they
were already in love before
they even laid eyes on him!
 Grace and Asher!
Olivia and Asher!

Both girls were sweet, loving and gentle!
Having a baby cousin is probably going
to be lots of fun!

Big Sister Brilyn!

I am so proud of Brilyn!
She is an amazing Big Sister!
She hasn't has the slightest
hint of jealousy.
She's protective of her little brother.
And - she's been a trooper at
going to the potty
when she needs to.
Many children regress when
a younger sibling is born,
but Brilyn has been doing GREAT!
She loves her baby brother,
so much!
Can't you just see the love?
We are so blessed to have these
two in our lives and
to have them close by so
we can enjoy them often!

Asher

Asher has been nothing but
a blessing!
His name means
Blessed and Happy
and it fits him perfectly!
He's snuggly and sweet
and I think that is a blessing
in itself. We're really enjoying him!
And isn't he just about
the cutest thing you've ever seen?

Happy Birthday, Asher Gauge!

We've been blessed with
another grandchild!
ASHER GAUGE PATTERSON
was born yesterday
at 10:17 am

He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz.
and he's 20.5 inches long.
 Big Sister Brilyn
loves him!
She has probably kissed him
at least 100 times!
He LOVES water! Here he is
taking his first bath with a great
big smile on his face!
Just look how relaxed he is.
He loved getting his hair washed.
 He's super sweet!
And very handsome!
And we are thrilled to have him!
What a wonderful blessing!
I'm sure you will be seeing a lot more
of him on the blog in the months
to come!
