Releasing the Ducks!

 The time had come to release the ducks,

so we loaded them up and took them

to our little neighborhood pond.

They should be safe there as there

is no threat from predators.

(Not that we know of, anyway)

 When the kennel was opened they tried climbing

deeper inside rather than coming out

as we expected.

Brilyn tried to coax her duck out!

Grandpa ended up having to

give the kennel a little shake and

dump them out.

 Then Caelie and Brilyn chased them

towards the water.

They didn't seem to want to

get in, so Caelie threw one.

 I'm not so sure they knew what to think.

They waddled up the hill toward

dry land. We then herded them

towards the water.

And once they realized it was

okay, they seemed to enjoy themselves.

Just look at them!

They seemed excited to finally have

room to swim!

 

And we've checked on them and fed them

daily and they are still alive and well.

Now - we have a real Duck Pond!

Is This Not The Cutest Little Announcement?

I had this little guy in the studio

for pictures. His Momma wanted Dr. Seuss

Pictures. These books were her and her

husband's books as children and the

little horse belonged to one of them, too.

Now - I guess they all belong to him!

Anyway - they bought the digital file and

used it to have the birth announcement made

at an Etsy Shop called Sugar Pickle Design!

I just thought it was adorable, so

I had to share!

 

 

Visiting a Canola Field

Brandy and Brilyn

went with me to Binger

to visit my Mom and Dad!

On the way over we saw

several large Canola Fields,

but Brilyn was sleeping

so we didn't stop!

BUT - On the way home

Brilyn was wide awake!

So, we asked the farmer who owned

the field if we could get in it

and take a few pictures.

He was happy to let us. Isn't

that a lovely crop!

If I were a farmer I think I would

like growing something

beautiful like this!

Training the Ducks!

 Brilyn is working hard!

 She's training the ducks.

 She's doing a good job, too!

She's training them to RUN!

RUN, RUN, RUN!

Run little ducks!

You are supposed to run away

from kids!

Little Visitors

These little visitors

hang out in our backyard!

 I don't know why but I

find them fascinating!

 They're so tiny and so fast

and I have tried over and over

to get some good pictures

of them. I've done

OKAY.... but not really GOOD!

But, now, getting

their picture is easy!

 My husband

a.k.a. Grandpa around here

came up with a

wonderful idea!

See!

He set the camera up

on a tripod and I can operate it with a

remote from the back door.

So there is no more flying away

when I run out with a camera!

Am I married to a genius or what?

Look How Big!

Not too long ago,

our little ducks were small

enough for the girls

to hold on their laps

and play with.

Now look at them!

 I think they grow a

little every day!

We're not letting the girls

hold them now because we

want them to know that they are

supposed to run from people.

Especially, little people.

Kids can be rough, so it would

be best if they kept a

safe distance....

especially once they move

to the pond!
