Happy, HAPPY Halloween!

October has been a busy month,
but we did make it to the Pumpkin Patch!
We've visited a different Pumpkin Patch
each year, and this one is probably
one of my favorites.
We too a hay ride up to Pumpkin Hill
and each girl chose her pumpkin.
It was cold and windy, but it seems it's
always cold and windy when we visit
the pumpkin patch.
We had a great time!
I'll post more about it next week
as there isn't room for everything
on one post.
But - this pumpkin patch
was the best I've seen!
There were LOTS of attractions!
And Heather's favorite Mexican
Restaurant is only 3 Miles Away!

Making Room

Billy and Alyssa have lived in the
cutest little house since they were married.
It was adorable.
But - there were only two bedrooms
and Billy has a lot of "stuff".
So, with a new baby coming they really
needed more space.
And - they found it!
Just look at that spacious front yard!
And this beautiful house!
And take a peek at the back yard.
We spent last weekend moving and I didn't
take my camera, so these are just
phone pictures.
But - the place is BEAUTIFUL!
And there is plenty of room for a baby boy
to run and play as he grows up.
There is even room for a sibling or two!
The inside of the house is beautiful, too.
I didn't get pictures, because we were
moving and things were not yet
put away, but everything about this
house seems to say "home".
It's just so comfortable. And there is tons
of storage. I'm sure they're going to
enjoy it.

Brilyn Likes to BAKE!

 Brilyn wanted to make cookies.
She's stirring her butter.
 She added an egg.
Now she's stirring in the dry
ingredients.
 Mmmmmm...... it tastes good!

I put the cookies in the oven for her
and got them out.
 See!
She couldn't wait to try them.

She had to have a fork because she
at them while they were still HOT!
YUM!

(sorry... no recipe. I use the Better Crocker mixes when cooking
with kids, so no recipe is needed. 1 stick melted butter, 1 egg, and contents of package. It's easy enough for a two year old)

Our Old Family Cradle

Isn't this the sweetest little cradle?
I love it the moment I saw it
and all of my children slept in it
as babies!
Now Asher is sleeping in it and it won't be
long before his new cousin will
sleep in it, too.
I love things that stay in the family
generation after generation.
Hopefully, I'll someday see great
grand children enjoying it, too.

Getting Ready for Christmas!

We'll have two new baby boys
this Christmas, so I've been working
on their Christmas Stockings!
Asher's is ready and all I have to do is
add a name to the other one.
Billy & Alyssa have chosen a name,
but I thought I'd leave it to them to
announce it.
Baby Boy Patterson
will be here soon, and we're all excited!
Asher is going to love having
a boy to play with!

Brilyn Has A Tea Party

This girl LOVES a tea party!
She's been wanting to get out this
particular tea set more and more
often, too. She calls it
her favorite!
She's very careful with it, too!
She's such a sweet girl.
She says the sweetest things.
She's got a compliment for
everyone
and she's so affectionate.
I love seeing that she's
learning to be so loving and kind.

Chuck E Cheese with Friends!

After our trip to the park
we went to Chuck E. Cheese!
 Chuck gave Kodi and Brilyn
both a hug.
We had lunch and the girls
played games and rode rides.
Brilyn loves going to Chuck E. Cheese's.
I think Gabriella had a good time
trying out the games.
Kodi found a new friend!
(something tell me her Daddy wouldn't like that. LOL)
And Kodi and Brilyn both tried keeping
up with Chuck E. Cheese's dance moves.

Kayli was also there but I was chasing Brilyn,
most of the time so I only got pictures of
the kids that were nearby.

Anyway.... it was a nice way to spend the day
and a real treat for the children!

Play Date At The Park

We had a play date at the
park with a group of local
Mom's and toddlers!
Look how BIG Brilyn is getting!
 Gabriella is getting BIG, too!
Gabriella is my sweet little neighbor.
She's such a sweet and adorable little girl.
And this is Kodi waving to us.
She's a good friend of mine's daughter.
And that cute little boy
lives right across the street.
He was at the park with his day care
provider and we just happened
to run into him there.
With the cooler, fall weather....
the park is pretty fun!

No Swimming!

Well, fall is here
and the water is cold.
We were fortunate to get to
use the pool as long as we
did, but there will be
NO MORE SWIMMING
until spring.
I'll miss pool time with
the kiddos, but
it will be nice not having
so many towels to wash.

Asher's Gallery Wrap

So.... where would you hang
a cute little gallery wrap
of Asher in
a Tonka Truck?
I have just the place!
Actually, this place was the
reason for the picture.
Doesn't it look GREAT?
With Asher here and a new baby
boy on the way, Grandma's
house has got to have a
few boyish things, too!

Asher

Asher has been such
a blessing!
He's sweet, snuggly and
I still have not heard him cry.
He's just as content as he
he is cute!
I am amazed at what a
good baby he is!

Fishing In The Rain

While we were camping it rained!
So - we could either sit in the
tent and be bored.... or we could
get out, get wet and have fun!
So we went fishing!
 Grace caught several fish!
And she can now catch fish all
by herself!
She just needs help putting the
worm on the hook and taking
the fish off.
She had so much fun!
She even picked out the campsite
she wants to camp at next time.
BUT - we were so far out in the sticks
that we didn't have phone service.
AND - Grace warned me that if we
go camping again and we take the
toddlers (Brilyn & Olivia) along, we shouldn't go
so far out into the woods that our phones
don't work because me might need
help with them.

Creepy Crawly Things....

 Grace loves little critters.
She wants a pet sooooo bad. She found a
snake and carried it around with her
everywhere.
 She chased lizards.... but they're
really really fast, so she didn't catch one.
I think that's a good thing, though.
I think those things can bite.
She studied tracks like this one.
We believe it was made by a raccoon.
But there were deer tracks, dog tracks
and tracks made by various birds, too.
And..... she saw this:
That frog lives in the handicapped stall's
toilet. We though he was stuck there, so we
teased him and made him jump out, only to
find him there again the next time we
went to the bath house.
Grace thought it was the funniest thing.
There was a whole lake nearby and he
chooses to swim in a toilet?
That's one crazy frog.

When The World Is Your Classroom

We home schooled our children and now
my daughter is home schooling Grace!
I couldn't be happier.
Home schooling offers families a lot
of flexibility that public and private
schools simply can't offer.
For instance - to a home schooler,
the world is a classroom.
Grace and I went camping and she
took her school work along.
I'm sure we didn't do it quite as well
as she would have done it at home.
BUT - she learned things you simply can't
learn from a book!
 Working on her lessons!
 Studying nature.
Did you know that lily pads change
colors like leaves? We saw some that
were pink and purplish tan and brown.
Grace is such a gentle little thing that the
deer come almost up to her.
I think that doe would have come
a little bit closer had she not
had a fawn to protect.
Perhaps the fawn was getting a little
lesson of it's own?
 We saw several deer.
And we saw other wildlife, too.
I think Grace is going to want to go
camping again and again!
She is definitely a little nature lover!
