Preparing for CHRISTmas!

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:11-14

Last year, I looked and looked and could not find a
Nativity Scene for my front yard at a reasonable price.
(Hobby Lobby has one for about $1,000.00)
So - this year, I made one.
I am not an artist - and it is not perfect - but it sends
a message to those who drive by my house.
JESUS is the REASON for the SEASON!
It's CHRISTmas!
The day we celebrate the birth of CHRIST!
And God's Greatest Gift!

I will be gone much of this week,
but I want to invite all of my fellow bloggers
to help me share the story of CHRISTmas
this upcoming season.
I am creating a new blog titled
BRING BACK JESUS
to encourage others to glorify Christ
this CHRISTmas.
Please help out by guest blogging.
E-Mail me a blog post complete with pictures
so I can upload it to share.
And once the blog is launched, share the blog
with others so they can be encouraged.
Let's not stand by and watch secularism
take over for one more minute.
Lets leave an impression on our children's
and grandchildren's hearts and let
them know why we are celebrating,
and that Christ indeed is the
best gift of all!

E-mail your blog post to patty.patterson@sbcglobal.net

The new blog will be

Tea Party at The American Girl Store's Cafe

Another thing we did
while I was in Texas, was go to
the American Girl Store!

We had afternoon tea in their cafe!
The girls each had their dolls and
were given a doll sized cup and
saucer to serve them with.
After serving her doll, Grace served
herself some sugar!
They had unsweetened tea and I think
sweetening her own tea was Grace's
favorite part of the day!
This is what they serve for Tea Time!
This column is Tea for Two - so
you see two of everything.
 Two chocolate mousse's, two frosted
cookies and two frosted cupcakes.
Two pigs in a blankets, two turkey burgers,
and two cucumber sandwiches.
Two fruit kabob's and two muffins!
We also ordered a dessert sampler.
It was mid-afternoon and we were only
having a snack, but we didn't want to
leave hungry.
After eating we went to the
American Girl Showroom
and looked at all the dolls,
doll clothes and accessories.
And these sweet girls were so, so good!
They showed us what they liked
and let us know who their
favorites were, but they did not
ask for a thing. And - they left
with smiles on their faces and
grateful hearts - just happy for the
chance to go LOOK.
We did not buy ANYTHING.
I was really impressed with their
happy little attitudes.
It is so hard to go into that store and
not want to spend $500.00.
There is so much - and it's all
beautiful.
I am one very
PROUD GRANDMA!

Science Museum Fun

While I was in Texas not too
long ago, Heather took the girls
and I to the Science Museum.
They played in the construction area
for a long, long time.
And later they found these magnetic
rods and had a blast with them.
The science museum is HUGE, so I'm sure
we missed a lot. But - the girls
had fun and I enjoyed watching them.
We also discovered that Grace could
be a gifted architect.
Just look at that cool design!

Boy, Oh, Boy!

Asher is ALL BOY!

 He's rough and tough
and he loves to get dirty!
I think it's interesting the way
God designs one kid
to be a boy and he automatically
thinks and acts like a boy.
And God designs another kid
to be a girl and she's just
naturally prissy and feminine.
Or - at least MOST of the time!
Other times call for getting messy!
Helping your brother
play in the dirt is one of
those messy times!

A Day At The Park

I've been getting to keep Weston
more often now that
school is in session.
And - I've found that he
LOVES the swings!
I think he would be content to sit in
that swing and swing back and
forth all day long.
And it was great seeing him smile!

I Just Love Butterflies!

My butterfly garden has had some
challenges this summer.
The weather started off cool and wet.
Then progressed to hot and dry.
It's not been a typical Oklahoma Summer!
But - I have had a large butterfly crop, regardless!
I think God keeps them coming back.
It's as if He's gifting them to me.
Because there is something about
a beautiful butterfly that
makes my heart grateful. And there is
something about the sighting of a
butterfly that makes me
whisper up a thanks!

Life is like that!
You get more and more
of what you thank God for,
if you are the grateful type.
And more and more of what you
grumble about, if you are
the complaining type.

Feel free to test my theory and
give thanks to God for the
good things in your life.
Or - feel free to complain if you'd
like things to get worse.
The CHOICE is up to YOU!
