River Bend Nature Center

On the way home from picking up the
girls we went to River Bend Nature Center
in Wichita Falls.
The girls were allowed to pet a turtle.
And they got a good close look at a
large tarantula.
We also got to see scorpions and we learned
that scorpions glow in the dark when
put under a black light.
There were salamanders, hissing cockroaches, a
rough green snake like the one we found near
our house not too long ago and a few other
critters to look at.
I think the Butterfly Garden was
everyone's favorite thing.
Just look at all the butterflies!
Here, Olivia is reaching for one!
And in this picture, Grace is holding
one in her hands.
The museum attendant said it was okay
to handle them.
Look! Brilyn is about to climb up to try
to catch her own!
It got away...
But, I caught up to it with my camera!

  1. The butterflies, the turtle ...yes. The spider..YIKES...the hair on my head is standing up. Smiles, Susie

  2. Your girls are adorable and you got a great shot of the beautiful butterfly.

  3. Those girls are fearless! What fun .. and so great to have the beautiful photos to remember the day by.
